Nui Coc Lake offers pretty views of forests and mountains, as well as interesting tourist sites. Visitors can take boat rides and explore the 89 islands that dot the lake, some of which are home to storks and wild goats. One island features a museum that houses artifacts dating all the way back to the Dong Son era. The Holy Mother Mountain Temple stands on another island.
The lake has an area of 25 square km and is 23m deep. The Ho Nui Coc Tourism Area features a zoo, a water park and the Palace of Legends, which contains 50 statues. Visitors will find a range of restaurants and hotels for all budgets.
Where: around 20km south-west of Thai Nguyen town, Thai Nguyen province. Thai Nguyen town lies 80km from Hanoi.
